I found an old installer for Sib 6.2 and installed that as well, general midi (enhanced) works well there. This is a great tutorial that explains how to manage MIDI messages if you run into them. On the other hand, the General MIDI that MacOS or WIN bring along are too poor for the occasional sound check.

I tried copying the General MIDI (enhanced).xml file to Sib 7.5's playback configuration folder. I used to be able to use 'General Midi (enhanced)' in the 32-bit version of Sib 7.5. Had to reinstall Sib because of a hard disk failure.
